Son of Maestre Beltrán de la Cueva and Mencía de Mendoza y Luna, Íñigo combined an ecclesiastical career with military service, becoming a general in the Kingdom of Toledo and Inspector General of the militias in the Kingdom of Granada. Together with his wife Ana de la Cueva y Mendoza, he contributed to the restoration of the Santa Clara Monastery in Cuéllar, where both were laid to rest, leaving a lasting mark on the town’s history.
